YLB Member Joins iRAP Global Policy Advisory Committee

 
 
 


Youth Leadership Board Member to the Global Youth Coalition, Estiara Ellizar joins the International Road Assessment Programme - iRAP Global Advisory Committee or GPAC. The GPAC provides advice to the iRAP Board on a range of strategic issues. It upholds the key principles and objectives of iRAP in creating a world free of high-risk roads. The GPAC also works with partners to maximise the number of lives saved worldwide.

Estiara is joined by Jamie Leather from the Asian Development Bank, Amadou Oumarou from the African Development Bank, Saul Billingsley from the FIA Foundation, Claudia Adriazola-Steil from the World Resource Institute (WRI) Ross Center for Sustainable Cities, Max Jensen from the European Investment Bank, Patrick Mallejacq from PIARC - World Road Association, Said Dahdah from the Global Road Safety Facility, Stephen Karingi from the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Susanna Zammataro from the International Road Federation, Young Tae Kim from the International Transport Forum, and Yuwei Li from UNECE.

 
 


Estiara has had multiple roles as a young changemaker in her community. From regional leader of the Asia region to Local Action project coordinator where she managed to implement an infrastructure assessment project around a dangerous school zone in Jakarta.

Additionally, she supported the YOURS - Youth for Road Safety Advocacy Library by leading the development of the Policy Brief about road safety and its connection with SDG 11: Sustainable cities and communities. 


Apart from doing work with YOURS and the Youth Coalition, Estiara currently works as the Transport Planner for the Ministry of Transportation in Indonesia. Her work includes coordinating and maintaining the implementation of strategic planning of the Research and Development Agency and managing collaboration with other stakeholders to support the research in providing policy recommendations on transportation.

The GPAC is part of the iRAP Governing Bodies. Other Committees include the Board of Trustees - where YOURS Executive Director Raquel Barrios is also a part of, the Global Technical Committee, the Global Technical Committee Alumni, and the GPAC Delegates.

The Committees and their members work hard to ensure iRAP performs its goals of saving lives and facilitating work with national programmes in low, middle, and high-income countries around the world.
